Caregivers with Love: An Opportunity to Collaborate in Strengthening Our Latino Community

At Centro Tyrone Guzmán, we believe that caring for older adults and supporting their caregivers is not the responsibility of a single institution, but a collective effort. That is why we created Cuidadores con Amor (“Caregivers with Love”), an innovative curriculum designed to give Minnesota’s Latino families the tools they need to care with dignity, respect, and love.

We are now seeking strategic partners who share our vision and want to join this transformative effort.

What is Cuidadores con Amor?
It is an eight-session curriculum in Spanish, culturally adapted, that addresses topics ranging from healthy aging and chronic illnesses to dementia, caregiver self-care, and creating age-friendly environments.

Each session combines scientific evidence with culturally relevant practices, ensuring that Latino caregivers receive information that is accessible, practical, and meaningful.

Why partner with us?
By joining the Cuidadores con Amor program, your organization can:

  • Expand its community impact by reaching one of the fastest-growing populations in Minnesota: Latino older adults and their families.

  • Offer culturally appropriate services that address the real needs of the Latino community.

  • Meet institutional and funding goals related to wellness, inclusion, and health equity.

  • Participate in exclusive trainings and access resources developed in collaboration with the University of Minnesota and experts in health and aging.

  • Build strong networks with organizations working in complementary areas such as health, community care, respite programs, and caregiver support.

The need is real
According to the Alzheimer’s Association (2024), Latino older adults have a 50% higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s than other groups. In addition, studies show that more than 83% of older adult care falls on informal caregivers, who need greater support and resources to face this challenge (National Alliance for Caregiving & AARP, 2020).

Partnering in this program means responding directly to this urgent need.

An invitation to work together
At Centro Tyrone Guzmán, we are committed to creating a strong support network for Latino caregivers. We invite your organization to be part of this mission—joining efforts and resources to build healthier, more inclusive, and more compassionate communities.

Contact us today to explore how your institution can become part of Cuidadores con Amor. Together, we can transform caregiving into a collective act of love and dignity.
