Department Overview
The Adult & Aging Department is dedicated to promoting the holistic well-being of Latino older adults and their caregivers by addressing their physical, mental, and emotional health. The department works to reduce the impact of social isolation and cultural barriers while strengthening participants’ sense of belonging within the community.
Through structured, culturally relevant programs, the department provides safe and welcoming spaces for engagement, learning, and ongoing support. All services are designed to respond to the real needs of the Latino community in Minneapolis, fostering connection, dignity, and overall quality of life.
Department approach
Our work is grounded in:
Culturally relevant approaches (focused on the Latino community)
Evidence-based models (Montessori, community health)
Cross-sector collaborations
Continuous programming (not one-time activities)
Measurable impact on well-being and health
At Centro, a program is not a one-time activity, but a continuous system of services with clear goals, ongoing follow-up, and sustainable impact in the community.
