Be at School

Program Overview

The Be at School is designed to address barriers to school attendance for Hennepin County’s K-12 students and their families through early interventions which are collaborative and family-focused.

What We Offer

  • Individualized academic and personal goal-setting

  • Connection to community resources and services

  • Guidance navigating the education system

  • Direct communication with students and families

Who We Serve

Be@School supports K–12 students in Hennepin County who are experiencing challenges with regular school attendance, along with their families.

Program Impact

Be@School is a voluntary program with a participation rate of over 50%, significantly higher than the national average of 24%. Each year, the program supports approximately 200 students, helping them re-engage with school and build stronger connections to their educational journey.

Of children participating in the program, 69% improved attendance, and 56% did not have any unexcused absences.
