We Celebrated Children’s Day: Love, Community, and Lasting Lessons
Mothers receiving their participation certificates.
On April 30, Centro Tyrone Guzmán celebrated Children’s Day with a joyful, heartwarming gathering honoring the families who participate in our Child Health Promotion, Accompaniment, and Manos Montessori programs.
On this special day, more than a dozen families came together in our vibrant community space, decorated with colorful balloons that set a festive tone. The stars of the day were the mothers and their young children, who shared playful, affectionate, and celebratory moments.
Meaningful Recognition
During the event, we honored participating moms with certificates—not just for showing up, but for their ongoing commitment to their children’s well-being and development. It was a moment to highlight their strength, love, and vital role as their children’s first teachers.
Games, Art, and Music for Everyone
The day was full of fun: collaborative games, children’s music, face painting, and temporary tattoos. Every activity was designed to spark creativity, strengthen family bonds, and build community. Laughter, hugs, and positive energy filled every corner of the room.
Sensory Gifts and Meaningful Learning
Thanks to the Manos Montessori program, families also received sensory and practical life materials to use at home—supporting early development beyond the event. These tools are part of our mission to provide accessible and culturally relevant resources to our community.
A Space for Collective Care
More than a party, this event was a reflection of Centro Tyrone’s commitment to Latino families in the Twin Cities. We create spaces that honor parenting, strengthen support networks, and plant seeds of long-term transformation.
“Joy could be felt in every corner—but most importantly, families felt seen, valued, and supported along their journey.”
