Maternal & Child Health Program
Children are blessings from the Creator and the lifeblood of the
culture and people. Pregnancy and childbirth are times when women's wisdom is sought and
communal support is given. In an attempt to diminish the cultural isolation Latinas
experience in Minnesota, Centro has developed a strong Maternal & Child Health program
that includes the cultural supports and resources necessary to facilitate a positive
childbirth experience.
Centro's Maternal & Child Health Program connects pregnant mothers
in our community with a wide range of resources, ranging from helping women apply
for medical insurance to getting a car seat.
The program provides culturally specific pre–natal health education,
improving the outcomes for a healthy birth and a healthy mother.
