Supporting The Latino Family For A Better Future

Siembra Pre-School Education Program

Siembra is Centro's award winning early childhood education program which serves families with children ages 33 months through 5 years of age. Siembra's mission is to build not only the academic skills and knowledge–base of each student, but also their social skills and capacity to function within a public school setting. Siembra's philosophy is based upon the belief that each individual has worth, gifts, and challenges.

The seeds of early literacy and academic success are sown through curriculum components focusing on cognitive development, mental health, academic skill building, social skill building, physical development and positive cultural self-identification. The daily schedule is divided into teacher directed and child initiated activities with a variety of quiet and active experiences throughout the day.

Parents of Siembra students participate in special workshops that teach parents how to encourage literacy and reading at home.
